Wednesday's workshops at Voces were concentrated on two workshoppers who will be working with the students for a large amount of time during the four-week intensive -- Beva Sanchez-Padilla and Mikaela Whitmore-Renz.
Beva is a renowned performer, playwright and poet based in Albuquerque.
Mikaela is a poet and edito who worked on the "A Bigger Boat", the anthology chronciling the rise of the Albuquerque poetry slam scene. Mikaela also used to helm the Voces program, starring in the same role Carlos now holds.
Mikaela's role in Voces is editing and critique -- for both performance and writing.
Students will spend Wednesday's and Friday's with her in editing sessions. On Wednesday, she and the students concentrated on already written work -- though the students will be working with Mikaela on new writing and performance soon enough.
That about covers it for Day 3.
Tomorrow, look out for the first posts from Voces students about Voces.
